Mercantile Bancorp is a bank holding company. Through its subsidiaries, Co. conducts consumer and commercial banking business, including deposit gathering, safekeeping and distribution; lending for commercial, financial and agricultural purposes, real estate purposes, and consumer purposes; and asset management including trust, estate and agency management, retail brokerage services, and agricultural business management. As of Dec 31 2010, Co. had 12 banking facilities serving nine communities in west-central Illinois, central Indiana, western Missouri, eastern Kansas, and southwestern Florida.
