Emerald Oil is an independent exploration and production company focused on acquiring acreage and developing oil and natural gas wells in the Williston Basin of North Dakota and Montana. Co. designs, drills, and operates oil and natural gas wells on acreage where it holds a controlling working interest. Co. also participates in the drilling of oil and natural gas wells operated by other companies. As of Dec 31 2014, Co. controlled the rights to mineral leases covering approximately 122,000 net acres. As of Dec 31 2014, Co. had total proved reserves of 26.3 million barrels of oil equivalent, consisting of 22.8 million barrels of oil and 21.1 million cubic feet of natural gas.
