USEC is an energy company. Co. is a supplier of low enriched uranium (LEU), which is a component in the production of nuclear fuel for reactors to produce electricity for commercial nuclear power plants. Co.'s LEU segment primarily sells the separative work units (SWU) component of LEU, both the SWU and uranium components of LEU, and uranium. Co.'s contract services segment includes the provision of some limited services to the U.S. Department of Energy and its contractors at its Paducah site and at the Portsmouth site related to facilities it continues to lease for the American Centrifuge Plant.
