ASB Bancorp is a bank holding company. Co. operates through its subsidiary, Asheville Savings Bank. Co. provides financial services to consumers and businesses in its key market area of Asheville, NC and the rest of Buncombe County, as well as Henderson, Madison, McDowell and Transylvania Counties. Co. accepts deposits from the general public and uses those funds to originate primarily one-to-four family residential mortgage loans and commercial real estate loans, home equity loans and lines of credit, consumer loans, construction and land development loans, and commercial and industrial loans. As of Dec 31 2015, Co. had total assets of $795.8 million and total deposits of $647.6 million.
